According to Odaily, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently shared insights on the X platform about two key concepts: 'value mapping' and 'refined human judgment.'

The first concept, value mapping, shifts the focus from asking, 'How much has X contributed to humanity?' to 'How much of Y's success is attributable to X?' This approach has gained popularity in recent years due to its practical application. Measuring contributions in abstract terms can be challenging. For instance, when asked how much they would pay to save N birds, people might respond with $80 for both N=2000 and N=200000. However, more localized questions, such as 'Which is more valuable to C, A or B?' are easier to address.

The second concept, refined human judgment, draws from ideas in Buterin's information finance article. It involves an open market for artificial intelligence to suggest weights for all edges in a value map, with a human jury conducting random checks. Anyone can propose weights using any method, including AI, and the human jury will perform detailed analyses on randomly sampled edges. The final output is determined by the submission most compatible with the jury's answers.
