On December 12, BlockBeats reported that Andreas Kohl, co-founder of Bitcoin sidechain Sequentia, claimed to have destroyed 69% of the Dogecoin network. Kohl stated that he executed the operation using an old laptop in El Salvador, taking advantage of a vulnerability discovered by researcher Tobias Ruck to cause the node to crash.
Prior to the exploitation of the vulnerability, Dogecoin had 647 active nodes, while currently, there are only 315 active nodes.
