Ethereum blobs are becoming more popular and stable every day, as they help reduce congestion on the main network and improve transaction speeds on second-layer networks like Arbitrum and Optimism. Since March, over 21,000 blobs were used on average, which is a record and equivalent to the number in March.
This increased demand has pushed blob fees to a 30-day high, burning over 166 ETH ($560,000) in the past week. The growth of blobs usage also reflects a shift towards faster and more affordable transactions for users. Although there are occasional expensive blobs, this technology is expected to improve the scarcity of available storage space, as Vitalik Buterin mentioned earlier.
