Thai police recently uncovered a case of false law enforcement to extort Chinese people, involving 12 suspects, including police personnel and Chinese translators. The case occurred at the home of a Vanuatu Chinese man, Mr. Sai, who was allegedly targeted by six uniformed Thai police officers and four others disguised as law enforcement officers.

They claimed that Mr. Sai was involved in a passport forgery case and threatened him with punishment if he did not pay a high amount of money. Mr. Sai agreed to transfer 5.6 million baht, and the Thai police later investigated the case and arrested 7 suspects, including 6 police officers.
