Telegram’s latest update promises faster video loading, improved quality and new speed controls alongside new monetization strategies for developers and increased limits for mini-apps. The platform introduces a dynamic video player feature for large channels automatically selecting optimal video quality based on user’s internet connection aimed to save data, ensuring faster loading simultaneously. Additionally, users can manually select between high, medium or low video quality. Capitalizing on customer support, Telegram allows iOS users to switch to Picture-in-Picture mode more easily by simply swiping up while browsing chats.

Elsewhere, customers can now adjust video playback speed more conveniently. Up to 2.5x faster playback without navigating settings can be achieved with simple gestures. Additionally, Telegram made it easier for users to edit sent messages. The updated features facilitate attaching media after sending messages and providing timestamps for last edits.

Ensuring developers’ interests in focus, Telegram introduces new monetization options through Telegram Ads, now integrated within bots and mini-apps. Sharing 50% of ad revenue, this initiative serves as a new revenue stream for supporting app development. To continue demonstrating commitment towards developers, Telegram increased message limits serviced by bots, allowing up to 1000 messages per second for a small fee. Standard bot message usage, however, remains free.

Further notable updates include chat-specific hashtags. These allow group and channel owners to create hashtags displaying posts only from the same chat. This feature uses format #hashtag@username. Finally, Telegram has debuted exact reaction counters enabling users to view the precise count of reactions their posts receive.
