A fraudulent application masquerading as the legitimate decentralized exchange Curve Finance (CRV) has surfaced on the Apple App Store, raising concerns over user security. Discovered by Cointelegraph, the fake app, labeled "Curve defi v3," has managed to rank among the top 100 finance apps on the platform as of October 26th. Its design closely resembles that of the real Curve platform, featuring a similar logo and user interface, making it challenging for unsuspecting users to differentiate between them. Despite numerous user reviews flagging the app as counterfeit, it has gained significant traction in regions such as Europe, Latin America, New Zealand, and the United States. The app's presence poses a significant risk to users, as it could potentially steal sensitive information or funds. To combat this issue, fintech engineer and App Store scam identifier known as "Babu" has taken to Twitter, tagging Curve Finance's official handle and urging users to exercise caution. Babu advises users to "stay vigilant" and report any suspicious apps to the App Store. Users are strongly advised to only download official apps from reputable sources and to be wary of any applications that mimic the branding of well-known platforms.
