• Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, has officially launched a blockchain-based digital ID system called QuarkID.

This initiative is a major global milestone in decentralized #ID and the first government-backed deployment of such technology.

The system uses zero-knowledge cryptography via ZKsync Era, a layer 2 #etherium network. The system is integrated into the city's MiBa platform, a seven-year-old application for accessing municipal services and documents.

QuarkID allows residents to securely manage and share documents such as birth certificates, tax records and vaccination data without revealing unnecessary personal information.
