The New York Times is getting backlash from the crypto community over their recent “sympathy” piece about FTX founder SBF.

NYT article titled "In the Bahamas, a Lingering Sympathy for Sam Bankman-Fried,” quoted local residents who praised SBF.

Local residents interviewed by NYT talked about SBF’s charities and donations in The Bahamas.

Crypto community expressed anger over NYT’s tone for SBF, who used FTX’s customers funds through his trading firm Alameda Research.

The New York Times has published several articles on SBF since the FTX collapse, showing him in a sympathetic light.

Patrick Lowry, chief of Cryptology Asset Group, called NYT’s article  a “paid shill.”

SBF is facing serious criminal allegations for his actions as FTX CEO.
