Eigen Layer has partnered with Nuff to develop a new staking protocol. Integrating the Nuff Protocol will expand EigenLayer’s ecosystem support and improve its fundamental features. The aim is to make the new platform the standard restaking platform for open innovation.

EigenLayer is a protocol built on Ethereum that introduces restaking, a new primitive in cryptoeconomic security. This primitive enables the reuse of ETH on the consensus layer. Users that stake ETH natively or with a liquid staking token (LST) can opt-in to EigenLayer smart contracts to restake their ETH or LST and extend cryptoeconomic security to additional applications on the network to earn extra rewards.

With EigenLayer, Ethereum stakers can help secure many services by restaking their staked ETH and opting in too many services simultaneously, providing pooled security. Reusing ETH to provide security across many services reduces capital costs for a staker to participate and significantly increases the trust guarantees to individual services.

More About the Upcoming Nuff Protocol

To improve upon NEAR DA and the Nuffle Fast Finality Layer (NFFL) AVS, the developers of the Nuff Protocol are working on a permissionless platform that will allow AVSs to utilize the cryptoeconomic security features of any blockchain natively and securely. EigenLayer is their chosen restaking ecosystem.

Nuff Protocol is a first: it will allow restakers to earn rewards and provide security straight from their original chains. Eliminating bridged asset risk and adding more asset types for price discovery greatly enhances the restaking economy for everyone involved.

Along with making the restaked security marketplace more accessible, the Nuff Protocol will help AVSs take advantage of new feature sets, minimize their security expenses, and streamline their DevX, lowering numerous barriers to entry for AVS development. The specifics of these features will be covered in subsequent blog entries.
