According to Odaily, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of India is actively monitoring cryptocurrency payment activities on the dark web. The agency has established a special task force and initiated digital forensics training to address the growing misuse of cryptocurrencies in drug trafficking. During a parliamentary discussion on July 24, India's Home Minister Nityanand Rai disclosed the country's current strategy to reduce the import and interstate movement of narcotics. According to NCB data, the number of drug seizures involving the dark web and cryptocurrencies has steadily increased since 2022. Rai detailed a 13-point action plan to combat the escalating issues of drug trafficking and narco-terrorism in India, with two of these measures specifically targeting cryptocurrency payments.
