The Average Directional Index (ADX) is a technical analysis indicator that is useful to determine the strength of a trend 💪

ADX commonly includes three separate lines: the ADX line (black), the negative directional indicator (-DI red), and the positive directional indicator (+DI green).

👉 Remember: The ADX does NOT determine whether the trend is bullish or bearish. Rather, it measures the strength of the current trend. The ADX indicator (black line) fluctuates from 0 to 100, and you should keep an eye on 20 and 40 as key levels.

What the ADX level means for the market 🧮

• At 20: The market is currently not trending
• Crosses above 20: A new trend is emerging.
• Between 20 and 40: The emerging trend.
• Above 40: The trend is very strong.
• Crosses 50: The trend is extremely strong.
• Crosses 70: A “power trend”.
