💸 Crypto losses alert!
😱 According to a recent report by Beosin, a web security firm, a staggering $656 million was lost in crypto hacks, scams, and rug pulls in H1 2023. 😨
Here's the breakdown: $471.43 million in protocol attacks, $108 million in phishing scams, and $75.87 million in rug pulls. While these numbers may seem high, they're actually lower than the losses in the second half of 2022.
Most of the lost crypto, around 75.6%, belonged to Ethereum-based coins and tokens. Binance Smart Chain tokens accounted for just 2.6% of the stolen assets. Smart contract vulnerabilities caused 56% of the losses, while 21.4% had no clear reasons.
