**Supreme Court of India's YouTube Account Hijacked by Crypto Scammers**

The Supreme Court of India's YouTube channel faced a cyberattack on September 20, when hackers took control and broadcasted fake XRP investment videos featuring a deepfake of Ripple Labs CEO Brad Garlinghouse. The scammers rebranded the channel to resemble Ripple and deleted all previous content.

YouTube swiftly took down the compromised account, and the Supreme Court issued a public notice about the incident. The account was recovered the same day, but it lost its original 217,000 subscribers and video uploads. The channel was renamed 'Vansh' and had only 15 subscribers post-recovery.

This incident follows a similar scam during Apple's iPhone 16 launch, where deepfakes of CEO Tim Cook promoted crypto scams. YouTube has since removed these videos and closed the associated accounts.
