My 3,000 yuan turned into 30,000. I have never seen so much money in my life. I sent an email to my professor asking what to do. He was surprised that I was also trading cryptocurrencies because in 2013, very few people knew about Bitcoin, even abroad, where it was not regarded as a good thing. He told me to go to his office and then explained a lot to me. The content was mainly his views on the development of this technology. Many of the technical terms I didn't understand at all and could only vaguely appreciate their significance. Throughout the conversation, he didn't mention the price of cryptocurrencies, and I was more concerned about that than the technology itself. It seemed that foreigners placed more importance on value investing rather than speculation. Since that meeting, I began to study blockchain in the library, but at that time, there were very few books about Bitcoin, and the library had basically none. I could only translate the white paper word by word, and many technical terms were completely unfamiliar to me, so I had to struggle through the translation until I was only half-understanding it. In 2014, I accidentally stumbled upon a person on Douban named Chang Tie, who wrote a book called 'Bitcoin: An Illusory Yet Real Financial World.' This book gave me a comprehensive understanding of what Bitcoin is, which also laid the faith foundation for my later heavy investment in BYC. Of course, my worldview was formed, but the methodology went wrong. At that time, I joined a QQ group, which had people who were similar to those on Weibo today, chasing highs and cutting losses endlessly. I eventually went from about 10 Bitcoins down to 5, so I began to ponder the seemingly mystical theory of trading. Even today, I only grasp the surface because the market is truly unpredictable and full of variables. To achieve a perfect hit rate, one must watch the market continuously. That period was the most painful time in my cryptocurrency trading career. Many of my group friends may also be experiencing this period, spending enormous effort to turn 5 Bitcoins into 12. Of course, during that year, the price of Bitcoin fell from $800 to $500. Even though I made some Bitcoins, my principal still decreased.
