Metaplanet has set an ambitious goal to increase its Bitcoin reserves to 10,000 BTC by the end of 2025, further showcasing its aspirations in the cryptocurrency space. Metaplanet's CEO Simon Gerovich announced this strategy on January 5, reflecting on the company's record growth in 2024. Gerovich emphasized that they will continue to utilize the most effective financial tools for Bitcoin purchases to expedite this expansion. Similar to leading corporate Bitcoin holders like MicroStrategy, Metaplanet aims to gain a significant global presence through aggressive Bitcoin acquisitions.
Currently, Metaplanet has become the 15th largest Bitcoin holder globally, and its existing reserves have realized nearly 30% profit. To achieve the goal of 10,000 BTC, the company plans not only to increase its Bitcoin reserves but also to promote the adoption of Bitcoin in Japan and worldwide. Gerovich emphasized that Metaplanet's strategy is not limited to corporate development but reflects a firm commitment to enhancing Bitcoin's status in the global economy.
