Deep Tide TechFlow News, on January 6th, according to Coinpedia, Jeju Island in South Korea announced that it will launch a tourism card project based on NFT technology in 2025 to attract millennial and Generation Z tourists. The project will integrate with the local blockchain stablecoin Tamna Jeon, providing tourists with multiple benefits such as travel subsidies, membership rights, and discounts at attractions.

Jeju Island Governor Oh Young-hoon stated that the region is gradually advancing its digital transformation with Web3 as the core technology and plans to apply NFTs to various areas of government services. Although South Korea has strict regulations on ICOs and NFTs, Jeju Island, as a subtropical region with a special legal framework, has been continuously exploring growth driven by cryptocurrency technology since 2018. This NFT tourism card project will first pilot in the second half of 2025 for domestic tourists in South Korea, with travel subsidies issued in local currency.
