PANews reported on January 2 that Bitcoin advocate Dennis Porter revealed Swiss legislator Samuel Kullmann is pushing efforts to include Bitcoin in the Swiss Constitution. This plan requires collecting 100,000 signatures within 18 months to compel the states (state parliaments) to vote on Bitcoin as part of the Constitution. Although this proposal faces challenges, if enough signatures are successfully collected, it will encourage all state parliament members to gain a deeper understanding of Bitcoin.
Previously, the Swiss Federal Government began reviewing a proposal for a national referendum on Bitcoin.
