According to ChainCatcher, reports from Cointelegraph indicate that a batch of data containing sensitive information about cryptocurrency conference attendees is circulating in the market. These lists may include full names, phone numbers, nationalities, job roles, and company information, as well as personal and corporate social media links. Some lists even include the purchase date, ticket type, operating system used at the time of purchase, number of social media followers, cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and information entered in text fields sent to event organizers.

Cointelegraph obtained 'samples' of such lists from sellers via Telegram, which included four lists of approximately 60 to 100 participants each, seemingly sourced from multiple events, with each list containing different data points about the attendees. A seller may have access to lists from multiple countries, indicating that the international trade of blockchain event attendee data is not isolated but organized.

It is worth noting that the investigation shows that data resellers are suspected to be from Russia. Sellers claim that this data will be used for "marketing promotion and customer acquisition" and even attempt to justify the sale of “unleaked” data, asserting that this data “is not sensitive information” and that “most people are open to such marketing.”
