Someone just commented that if you dislike Morphos, and are averse to Move coins, why not dislike Sui coins?
This goes back to the early stablecoin project of Zuckerberg's American Facebook company in 2019 - Libra. Libra was initiated by Zuckerberg, the founder of the three major social platforms in the U.S., due to the increasing profitability of Google/Twitter. The Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp segments of Zuckerberg's family had reached a bottleneck, making it difficult to break through. Similar to China's Tencent/Baidu, no matter how much they earn, they cannot go abroad. When they try to go abroad, they face fierce competition from foreign giants, lawsuits, and suppression! Therefore, in 2019, this fool Zuckerberg, being cautious, initiated this stablecoin project - Libra, a stablecoin that serves as a universal model in social circles, similar to USDT/Dai stablecoins. Because Facebook still has some reputation in the world, this stablecoin project quickly gained favor from global Wall Street giants and major institutions in the crypto space, such as Binance Labs, Multicoin Capital, A16z, Coinbase, Paradigm Capital, XRP Foundation...
Because Facebook is a globally recognized entity and a social media giant, this stablecoin quickly gained the support of all entities and capital after its proposal. The scale of investment from institutions is unprecedented and unmatched in history! The investment scale is equivalent to that of ICP + Algo + Matic three public chains. Just as this project was about to be implemented, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the National Security Council said to it - No! Libra was randomly dissolved, and the money from investment institutions was returned as it was.
Interestingly, the original team of Libra developed APT/Sui, two public chains based on Move's core, after the bear market in 2021. This is different from Ethereum's EVM virtual machine core. Move can provide a faster burst threshold and a higher speed!
Assets built with Move are non-replicable and non-destructible! It can also prevent double and multiple attacks on the chain! This is similar to the replay attack we often see on the Ethereum chain! Those who frequently stake large amounts, lend, and interact on the chain must have deep experience with this; they often tremble in fear of being attacked by replay attacks on the Ethereum chain, especially when crossing chains. This replay attack is very scary, and I personally have encountered it many times when interacting with new Ethereum Layer 2 projects. Sometimes all I can do is pay extra gas fees to speed up the transaction twice to quell my anxiety!
APT and Sui are like the complementing parts of 'Nine Yin Manual'! My personal early experience is that APT is somewhat like the current EOS, with good compatibility. Sui, on the other hand, is more targeted, being more flexible in responding to developers and community feedback, and more willing to listen to community opinions for improvement. Overall, the two are not significantly different since both Sui and APT teams are products of the separation from the Libra stablecoin.
You can think of them as two legs wearing the same pants. Reference to China Mobile Communications and China Unicom: Don't be fooled by the rivalry between Mobile and Unicom terminals; when it comes to the level of chairmen, they might actually be from the same family.
APT was listed on major exchanges early in the bear market of 2022, while Sui seemed a bit more user-friendly. The reason I was optimistic about Sui at the beginning was that I noticed their teams were different; only two members of the Libra team actually joined the APT team, while most of the team members went to the Sui team.
So at that time, I was more optimistic about Sui!
Everyone should not be biased; after all, the Korean Upbit market on APT ranged from $3 to $22, and the return rate was pretty good.
Today's post is just a boring reply to a comment from a coin friend in the previous post. There is no hindsight, no trading signal, and no FOMO regarding this coin.
Although I prefer Sui over APT, I have never stepped on APT. Capital operations, who can say for sure? Just keep your beliefs aligned with your actions; enjoy the benefits without being biased! You cannot predict that APT will definitely be outperformed by Sui someday! In fact, at the end of last year, I advised my friends to swap 75%-50% of their positions for Sui; I had a dream where these brothers merged in a bull market, and then there was a super favorable new coin - Libra at sky-high prices! Hahaha...
