Hey, why is this Usual stablecoin so popular? We need to start from the beginning.
Back when President Biden was in office, Usual was doing quite well on Binance for over a month. From mid-November until the trading ended in mid-December, Usual's price skyrocketed like a rocket, rising fourfold at its peak! Today, while the market is in the red, it still managed to rise 35% against the trend, which is truly puzzling.
Let's first take a look at the founding team of Usual; they are not to be underestimated. There’s Pierre Person, a French MP and presidential advisor who deals with cryptocurrency regulation; Hugo Sallé de Chou, a big shot in the payment industry and founder of Pumpkin, who has 2 million active users; along with veteran in the crypto space Adli Takkal Bataille, founder of Le Cercle du Coin, and has his own investment fund; and finally, financial expert Pierre Cumenal, who holds dual master's degrees in applied mathematics and quantitative finance, a seasoned player in banking.
Looking at the investment institutions behind it, big names like Dewhales, IOSG, and Kraken Ventures have all invested, along with a bunch of angel investors, including big players like Frax and Curve.
How does the Usual token work? Simply put, if you deposit cryptocurrencies like USDC, USDT, and ETH, it will convert them into U.S. Treasury bills and repurchase agreements to earn money, similar to earning interest from a bank deposit. However, instead of interest, it provides stablecoin USD0. Moreover, you can use this USD0 to participate in DeFi projects, and staking USD0 can also yield USD0++, generating returns; this is what is referred to as the TVL provider segment.
Usual is also a governance token, with 12.37% already unlocked, and the rest is minted according to the USD0++ locked amount, ensuring that the issuance speed does not exceed the speed of economic expansion, which is quite reasonable.
Stablecoins are the infrastructure of the crypto space, with Tether, the issuer of USDT, making over $10 billion a year with just over 100 employees. Usual also wants a piece of the pie, with a solid foundation of locked assets worth 1.14 billion and an annual income of 46 million. However, whether it can withstand a bear market depends on the stakers.
For our exchange traders, buying Usual during a pullback and holding long-term might just fill your pockets. However, if you're staking Usual, retrieving it comes with a 10% loss, which is distributed among other long-term stakers!
In the next layout direction, I will guide everyone to aim for the lucrative opportunities in altcoins, especially those with great potential. An expected growth of over 10 times is definitely possible. If you want to make big money in a bull market, like and comment, and I'll help you layout the entire bull market.
