Gold Finance reports that Chainalysis stated in a report released on December 19 that North Korean hackers stole over $1.3 billion in cryptocurrency from 47 incidents occurring in 2024, accounting for approximately 61% of the total reported thefts that year. Chainalysis remarked, "North Korea's crypto attacks seem to be becoming more frequent," adding, "Notably, the frequency of attacks in 2024 between $50 million to $100 million and those above $100 million is much higher than in 2023, indicating that North Korea is becoming increasingly effective and faster at carrying out large-scale attacks. This stands in stark contrast to the previous two years, during which North Korea's attacks were more frequent, with profits from each attack being below $50 million."
