Recently, data released by the Hong Kong SAR government shows that Hong Kong's attractiveness as an international business center is continuing to strengthen. The number of parent companies with offices in Hong Kong from overseas and the mainland has increased to 9,960, and the number of startups has risen to 4,694, both reaching historic highs. This series of positive data not only reflects the superiority of Hong Kong's business environment but also highlights the significant achievements of the SAR government in attracting talent and enterprises.
Particularly noteworthy is that among the 66 leading companies successfully recruited through the introduction of key enterprise offices, nearly half are industry leaders, and 80% of these companies plan to establish global or regional headquarters in Hong Kong. The entry of these companies not only brings 42 billion HKD of investment commitments to Hong Kong but will also create over 17,000 jobs, injecting strong momentum into Hong Kong's economic development.
Hong Kong's ability to attract such a large number of international enterprises and startups is attributed to its unique geographical location, sound legal system, low tax regime, efficient government services, and a financial market aligned with international standards. These advantages collectively constitute Hong Kong's core competitiveness as an international business center, positioning Hong Kong as an important player in the global economic landscape.
At the same time, the data also shows Hong Kong's efforts in diversifying market expansion. Whether from traditional European and American markets or emerging Middle Eastern and ASEAN markets, the significant growth in the number of companies based in Hong Kong demonstrates that Hong Kong's business appeal is continuously expanding on a global scale.
In addition, the surge in the number of startups also reflects Hong Kong's vitality and potential in innovation and entrepreneurship. These startups not only bring new growth points to Hong Kong's economy but also provide more job opportunities and entrepreneurial platforms for young people. The continuous rise in Hong Kong's business attractiveness is the result of the SAR government's years of efforts to create a good business environment and actively attract talent and enterprises. Looking ahead, as the global economy continues to change and develop, Hong Kong needs to continue leveraging its unique advantages, continuously innovate and improve its business environment to attract more international enterprises and talent to develop in Hong Kong.
