In yesterday's article, I mainly referenced an idea from the reference article:
Even NFT project parties can consider issuing their own AI agents.
In fact, there are already NFT projects with such cases.
However, in this case, the initiator of the AI agent is not the project party, but a community enthusiast. mfer was a relatively popular NFT on external networks. An enthusiast from this NFT community, @HeresMyEth, initiated an AI agent focused on mfer called @mferGPT.
However, the impact of this project is currently not significant, and I haven't seen any major NFT project personally operating like this.
In fact, it is entirely unnecessary to limit such operations to NFT projects, nor is it restricted to just launching AI agents; it can fully operate all activities related to AI agents, such as building platforms similar to Virtuals.
I saw such a case over the weekend.
Speaking of zkSync, its airdrop once left countless yield farmers with painful memories. After the token airdrop, I seem to have not heard any community discussions about this once highly anticipated Ethereum second-layer expansion, nor have I heard anyone discuss the projects on this second-layer expansion.
But while I was wandering around over the weekend, I suddenly discovered that a DEX on this second-layer expansion is now transforming to mimic the gameplay of Virtuals. This DEX is Holdstation (
https://holdstation.exchange/).
I have interacted on this DEX before, purely for the purpose of taking advantage. The only impression it left me with is: it supports Pay Master, allowing users to choose to pay gas fees with its token (Hold). This made my experience much smoother.
Aside from that, I cannot see any highlights of this DEX.
If it weren't for wandering around over the weekend and seeing its news, I wouldn't have thought of this DEX at all.
It is now not only continuing to maintain the DEX business but has also transformed into an AI agent financing platform like Virtuals and seems to have gained ecological support.
Its gameplay completely mimics Virtuals, allowing supporting AI agents to issue tokens, and users must buy this type of AI agent tokens through its platform token Hold.
Currently, this DEX has already issued AI agents, but these agents do not have many highlights yet, and it seems that not many people are aware of them. Only the project party itself is tirelessly promoting and advertising on Twitter.
Regardless of whether this new method works or not, the project party's quick action has already indicated that they see this gameplay as a 'lifeline.'
This sign makes me even more convinced that the gameplay of Virtuals will rapidly expand to other ecosystems and be used by more lifeless project parties to 'borrow the corpse to resurrect the soul.'
If we further connect this gameplay with the countless second-layer expansions now, the segmented imaginative space is even greater.
Doesn't Uniswap have its own Unichain now?
Regarding the development direction of Unichain, there is a dedicated article on Messari analyzing whether it is a general-purpose chain or a DeFi-specific chain.
Now it seems there is no need to argue. If Uniswap also adopts the method of Virtuals, specifically to cultivate AI agents dedicated to DeFi on Unichain (such as trading agents, payment agents, etc.), and uses its UNI token as the exchange medium for these AI agent tokens, then it can develop its own DeFi AI agent ecosystem on its chain.
Moreover, this is also a legitimate, non-regulatory approach to empower tokens, which is safe and effective.
Ape and Magic do have their own dedicated game (second-layer expansion) chains, ApeChain and Treasure, right?
They can also adopt the gameplay of Virtuals to cultivate game-like AI agents within their own ecosystem, and empower their tokens significantly. In this way, they can establish their own ecosystem of game-like AI agents and support the price of their tokens.
If this idea can be implemented, I estimate that what will erupt next will not only be AI agents but also a simultaneous eruption of second-layer expansions and AI agents—any project with strong capabilities and ecosystems will consider building its own second-layer expansion and then establish its own AI agent ecosystem on the second-layer expansion.
This imaginative space would be very large.
