This round of financing was led by Index Ventures and Alphabet's independent growth fund CapitalG, with participation from Conviction Capital and several tech leaders including OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy. /dev/agents was founded by a team of former Google executives, including co-founders like former Stripe CTO David Singleton and former VP of Android Product Management Hugo Barra. It is reported that the company plans to create an 'operating system' for the AI era, offering cross-device personalized interaction interfaces through a cloud platform and generative AI.
