The Block reported: Eliza Labs is collaborating with Stanford University to research how autonomous AI robots integrate into the broader digital asset economy.

Eliza Labs is the team behind the blockchain-driven AI agents of AI16z, currently collaborating with Stanford University to research how autonomous AI robots integrate into the broader digital asset economy.

This research will be conducted early next year under Stanford University's existing 'Future of Digital Currency Program', led by two senior cryptographers and professors in the cryptocurrency field, Dan Boneh and David Mazières. Mazières is one of the co-founders of the Stellar blockchain.

This move comes at a time when the field of 'decentralized AI' is rapidly developing, as autonomous agents begin operating on social media with little to no human intervention, attracting significant attention from the cryptocurrency community with projects like AI16z and Truth Terminal, funded by Marc Andreessen, which have launched or promoted tokens that are very popular in the market.

Many predict that the AI agents programmed through vast online datasets will eventually naturally turn to internet-native digital currencies.

Eliza Labs stated in a press release: 'By leveraging the open-source Eliza framework developed by Eliza Labs to create autonomous agents, this collaboration will explore fundamental issues such as how AI agents build trust, coordinate actions, and make decisions in decentralized financial systems.'

Eliza Labs is currently 'actively seeking partners in specific industries', but it is unclear who exactly has been contacted or which organizations will collaborate with the team.

The research will focus on three core areas: 'agent trust mechanisms', 'multi-agent economic systems', and 'decentralized agent governance'. In other words, researchers will look at building economic systems and communities for AI robots and explore 'decentralized governance models' and coordination protocols.

The team stated: 'These developments are aimed at establishing foundational standards for agent interactions in the digital economy.'

Eliza Labs is the entity behind AI16z DAO, which is managed by an autonomous AI robot named Marc AIndreessen. (The renowned venture capitalist Marc Andreessen and his investment firm a16z are not associated with this project.) The structure of AI16z DAO is similar to that of a hedge fund, aiming to 'outperform a16z', where real investors invest in strategies executed by AI Marc. Eliza Labs has also developed tools enabling robots to use social media and the broader internet.

According to CoinGecko, the market capitalization of the AI16z token has exceeded $820 million since its release in October.

Stanford University's Future of Digital Currency Program collaborates with governments, enterprises, and other institutions to establish standards regarding the role of digital currencies across various industries.
