According to ChainCatcher, RISC Zero has officially launched zkVM version 1.2, introducing a brand new 'Application-defined Precompiles' feature. This innovation changes the architectural model of traditional precompilation modules, allowing precompilation functions to be deployed alongside applications without relying on fixed implementations within zkVM, enhancing performance and flexibility.

zkVM version 1.2 allows developers to immediately integrate precompilation functions into applications without needing system updates or additional coordination work, resulting in a faster and more efficient development experience.

According to reports, Automata has integrated RISC Zero's RSA precompilation feature, reducing its program execution cycle from 39 million to 198,000, achieving approximately a 198-fold cost reduction.
