Hangzhou Alibaba is laying off employees again!

This morning, I received a call from an old colleague I hadn't been in touch with for a long time. He casually mentioned that he was laid off recently! The severance package has been negotiated, amounting to about 500,000, and he is expected to officially leave this month.

Speaking of this friend, he is quite talented, always busy with work, 36 years old and still single, has worked in R&D at Alibaba for many years, reaching the P7 level, with an annual salary of about 1.1 million. He owns a fully paid 143-square-meter apartment in Hangzhou, has a GLC car for transportation, and has savings in the seven-digit range, having basically achieved financial freedom.

After some small talk, he expressed that he does not feel a midlife crisis, is not in a hurry to find a job, wants to take a break, go home to spend time with his parents, and take them on a trip to the south! He said he would look for opportunities again next spring. He also asked me to recommend any good opportunities to him if they come up, repeatedly stating that he wouldn’t mind the salary, and that the work atmosphere is the most important!

I must say, once a person reaches a certain height, they have a remarkable perspective!
