According to reports from Forbes journalist Eleanor Terrett on December 10, PANews, U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce mentioned 'Operation Chokepoint 2.0' in an interview and outlined three key things she believes need to be done under the new SEC leadership after Trump took office to help clarify the cryptocurrency industry:

  1. The first step in stopping the government's Chokepoint activities is to cease this attempt to prevent cryptocurrency from obtaining the services it needs (such as custody) to move forward;

  2. Clarify what falls outside the jurisdiction of the SEC, what is not a security, and which individuals do not need to consider the SEC's regulatory framework;

  3. Collaborate with entities involved in cryptocurrency to try to understand how existing rules apply and where adjustments need to be made. This requires a collective exercise. It needs to be done publicly so that everyone can participate. I believe we can find a good starting point relatively quickly.
