Virgin Voyages announced the launch of a new 'annual pass' program starting in 2025, and it is reportedly set to become the 'first cruise product to accept cryptocurrency.'
According to a recent blog post, the company will accept Bitcoin as a payment method for the new service, with a standard prepayment fee of $120,000 per cruise, plus taxes. There are currently no indications of when or if Virgin Voyages will consider expanding its cryptocurrency payment options.
Annual passes offer unlimited cruise travel within a year on a first-come, first-served basis. The company stated that the product was conceived after the success of its 'season pass' program, primarily targeting remote workers. (Cointelegraph)
