According to Techub News and reported by Cointelegraph, Jorge Tenreiro, the acting head of the SEC's cryptocurrency and cyber division, updated his title to Chief Litigation Counsel of the SEC this month on his LinkedIn profile, responsible for overseeing the litigation and investigation efforts of the agency's enforcement division.

Tenreiro joined the department in October 2022 as Deputy Director, taking over after the departure of former Director David Hirsch in June. During his tenure, he led multiple lawsuits by the SEC against the cryptocurrency industry, including exchanges Kraken and Coinbase, Tron and its founder Justin Sun, as well as years of legal disputes with Ripple Labs.
