Jefferies Group Global Head of Foreign Exchange Brad Bechtel stated that the dollar started strong on the back of Trump's election as President of the United States, but its future trajectory will largely depend on the pace of policy implementation. "Over time, I can see the potential for the dollar to continue rising, but I don't think it will be re-priced immediately," Bechtel said. During Trump's first term, he navigated his way in Washington, and as his experience grew, he could move more quickly on tariffs and regulatory reform. But this is not guaranteed and largely depends on whether the Republicans can win the House. Bechtel stated: "From now on, we need to see if this will be a red wave: this will determine the broader speed of the market."
