According to BlockBeats, Stacks has announced the successful release of the final Nakamoto upgrade code on August 28, Eastern Time. Network operators based on the Stacks blockchain will have one Stacking Cycle (Cycle 92), approximately 15 days, to implement the upgrade. Following this period, core developers will initiate a hard fork at block height 861500 to activate all new Nakamoto rules.
Once the new rules are activated, the transaction speed on the Stacks network will significantly increase. Settlement times, which previously ranged from 10 to 30 minutes or longer (similar to Bitcoin's timing), will be reduced to approximately 5 to 10 seconds. This improvement is expected to greatly enhance the usability of BTC layer2. The official team has already launched a 21-day promotional campaign to inform users about these changes.
