According to reports from Wu, the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF) reports that cryptocurrency-related scams lead to annual losses of approximately €500 million for victims. French authorities are working with institutions such as the Paris Prosecutor's Office to combat these fraudulent activities.
As of November 2024, the average loss for victims of financial fraud is €29,000, with an average loss of €69,000 from fake savings accounts. Data shows that men under 35 are particularly vulnerable.
Since January 2022, the AMF and ACPR have blacklisted nearly 5,000 unauthorized platforms and successfully blocked access to 350 fraudulent websites.
