According to BlockBeats, on December 20, the LayerZero "Fee Switch" proposal has entered the voting phase.

According to official documentation, ZRO holders will control the accumulation of protocol fees, with a public on-chain referendum held every six months to decide whether to enable the fee switch.

The LayerZero protocol may charge fees equivalent to the costs of cross-chain message verification and execution, such as transaction fees between Arbitrum and Optimism.

If the fee switch is activated by governance, the public treasury contract will collect and burn these fees on the local chain.
