According to Odaily Planet Daily, Italy's capital gains tax on digital assets will remain at 26% until 2025, and the €2,000 tax-free allowance will be canceled.
Starting in 2026, the tax rate will increase to 33%. Lega party leader Giulio Centemero stated that without parliamentary intervention, the tax rate will rise to 42%. There is now an improved starting point, industry recognition, and a year to work towards the 2026 goal.
