According to Cointelegraph, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff believes the future of artificial intelligence lies in autonomous agents rather than large language models (LLMs) in the form of AI chatbots.

Benioff stated in a podcast with the Wall Street Journal that LLMs have reached their limits, and consumers mistakenly believe AI is more powerful than it actually is. He believes that future advancements in AI will be in autonomous agents rather than LLMs like ChatGPT.

Benioff mentioned that Salesforce has achieved customer service automation through pre-built AI agents. He warned against overhyping AI's capabilities, especially regarding exaggerated claims about solving global challenges.

OpenAI plans to launch an agent codenamed 'Operator' in 2025, and Nvidia is also promoting the adoption of AI agents in businesses.
