• Osmosis is a DEX-Focused App-Chain in the Cosmos Ecosystem. Built using the Cosmos SDK, Osmosis utilizes Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) to enable cross-chain transactions.

  • OSMO is the native token of the project. The current use cases for OSMO include:

    • Network Fees: Pay for transaction fees on the Osmosis network.

    • Superfluid Staking: Providing liquidity while participating in the network staking.

    • Governance: Participate in on-chain community governance.

  • The project consists of the following major components working in conjunction:

    • Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC): Allows each sovereign blockchain (zones) built using the Cosmos SDK to be connected to each other through the Cosmos Hub.

    • Customizable & Self-governing Liquidity Pools: Osmosis allows users to choose the tokens within the pool and their respective token weights.

    • Bonding LP Tokens: Users can choose to bond their LP tokens after depositing liquidity. Bonded LP tokens are eligible for liquidity mining rewards, amount varies depending on the length of time they have chosen.

  • As at Oct 30th 2022, the total token supply of OSMO is 325,000,000. The current circulating supply is 282,464,369.00 (~86.77% of total supply).
