According to Odaily, blockchain investigator ZachXBT has released findings on X regarding Faris Ali (also known as Zay or Tommy) from the UK, who is allegedly involved in a $4.3 million crypto robbery in June 2024. On June 18, a victim posted on X that they had been robbed earlier that day and were forced to transfer $4.3 million to two addresses. As of now, most of the funds remain dormant.
Shortly after the victim's post, an investigation began, revealing chat logs between Faris/Tommy and an accomplice discussing their plan to disguise themselves as delivery drivers to gain access to the victim's home. They shared photos of the victim's front door and the building, along with an image confirming their presence outside the victim's door dressed as three delivery drivers.
Weeks before the robbery, Faris/Tommy had a criminal record and had shared a bail photo on Telegram, inadvertently revealing his identity. Following the robbery, an ENS domain name, farisali.eth, was registered, and a message was sent on-chain.
