According to Odaily, during a recent analyst meeting, Oracle co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Larry Ellison revealed that he and Elon Musk had dinner with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at Nobu Palo Alto, where they requested more GPUs from Huang. Ellison described the dinner as a plea for more GPUs, stating, 'I can describe that dinner as Elon and I begging Jensen for GPUs. Please take our money, and by the way, I have dinner ready. No, take a little more. We need you to take more of our money.' Ellison noted that the outcome was positive, saying, 'Everything went smoothly. I mean, it worked.' Oracle has heavily invested in GPU technology, particularly for AI applications. The tech giant recently reported its first-quarter results for fiscal year 2025, showing a 7% year-over-year revenue increase to $13.3 billion, with profits reaching $2.9 billion. Oracle also disclosed that it operates or is building 162 cloud data centers worldwide, with the largest being an 800-megawatt facility that will house 'acres of Nvidia GPU clusters' for training large-scale AI models. In the first quarter, Oracle signed 42 cloud GPU contracts totaling $3 billion. Similarly, Tesla relies on Nvidia GPUs to power its supercomputers, which train neural networks for its autonomous and assisted driving technologies.
