According to PANews, OpenAI is on the verge of completing its latest funding round, with the final list of investors expected to be confirmed by this Friday. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the $65 billion funding round has been oversubscribed, with market demand exceeding several billion dollars. This oversubscription means that some potential investors will not be able to participate in this round of funding. Strategic investors, including OpenAI's largest backer Microsoft, as well as new investors Nvidia and Apple, are likely to secure participation opportunities. This deal is set to value OpenAI at $150 billion.

Sources also disclosed that Sequoia Capital, an existing investor in OpenAI, will not participate in this round. Sequoia Capital recently invested in Safe Superintelligence Inc., a competitor founded by OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, who left OpenAI earlier this year. Additionally, Thrive Capital, another existing investor, will lead this funding round with a contribution of $12.5 billion.
