2025 started and was about to end but when it passed we even did not notice. In actual alot of thing happens in crypto industry from regulations to innovation. Here is a quick recap:
Global Market and Regulation
The U.S passed major crypto regulation that created clarity for stablecoins and exchanges like the GENIUS act.Institutional adoption continued with more regulated products and major coin ETFs launching internationally. Like for $ETH , $SOL and $XRP
Formation of PVARA
Pakistan established the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA) under the Virtual Assets Ordinance 2025 to regulate crypto exchanges and virtual assets. The ordinance gives #PVARA authority to license and regulate crypto related items according to global standards. PVARA held its inaugural board meeting with senior finance and regulatory officials to make priorities for licensing, AML/CFT compliance, sandboxes, and international engagement.

Licensing and Market Opening
PVARA asked global exchanges to apply for local licenses, inviting top crypto firms to enter Pakistan’s market under compliance and supervision. According to Binance over 40 million Pakistani users engaged in crypto activity. #HTX and #Binance received initial approval (No Objection Certificate) to start the licensing process, showing practical progress toward regulated operations.
Pakistan is planning its first government-backed stablecoin and progressing discussions about digital currencies and CBDCs. Regulatory cooperation with the State Bank of Pakistan is improving the wide virtual asset ecosystem and on-ramps/off-ramps for users.
