Types of Airdrops

Standard Airdrops: Free tokens are distributed to users who sign up for the airdrop. No specific conditions other than registration are required.

Holder Airdrops: Tokens are distributed to users who hold a specific cryptocurrency in their wallet at a certain snapshot date. For example, holding Bitcoin or Ethereum could make you eligible for an airdrop of a new token.

Bounty Airdrops: Participants complete various promotional tasks like social media posts, writing articles, or creating videos to receive tokens.

Exclusive Airdrops: These are distributed to a select group of users, often early adopters or users who have significantly contributed to the project in the past.

Fork Airdrops: When a blockchain undergoes a hard fork, holders of the original cryptocurrency receive tokens of the new cryptocurrency created by the fork.

Examples of Notable Airdrops

Uniswap (UNI): In September 2020, Uniswap distributed 400 UNI tokens to anyone who had used the platform before September 1, 2020. This airdrop was worth thousands of dollars for many recipients.

Stellar Lumens (XLM): Stellar conducted multiple airdrops, including one in partnership with Blockchain.com, distributing hundreds of millions of XLM tokens to wallet holders.
