David Hirsch, the head of crypto assets at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has announced his departure from the agency after nearly nine years of service. Hirsch, who began his career as a staff attorney at the SEC, expressed pride in the work accomplished by the agency’s Crypto Assets and Cyber Unit. While he didn't reveal his next move, Hirsch mentioned he is looking forward to a break and travel with his family before announcing his future plans. Hirsch has been an enforcement attorney for the SEC since 2015 and took charge of the agency's crypto asset and cyber units division in October 2022.
