The explosion killed the driver and injured seven others. The rental car arrived in Las Vegas from Colorado around 7:30 a. m. and drove up and down legendary Las Vegas Boulevard for an hour, stopping in front of the Trump Hotel just before it exploded.
surveillance footage shows the truck swerving through the neighborhood, then parking and bursting into flames seconds later. The FBI has launched an investigation into the explosion. Acting Special Agent in Charge Jeremy Schwartz of the FBI's Las Vegas field office said: "We are working to determine if this was an act of terrorism. At this point, we believe this is an isolated incident.
"
Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after 8:40 a. m. and found the 2024 Tesla Cyber truck engulfed in flames. The driver's body was still inside the vehicle and investigators are trying to determine his identity. Deputy Fire Chief Billy Samuels said seven people were injured in the explosion, but all are in stable condition.
Las Vegas Sheriff Kevin McMahill attributed the lack of damage to the design of the cyber truck.
