Shiba Inu’s virtual world, powered by Shibarium, offers users the ability to own, trade, and develop blockchain-recorded virtual real estate.
Over the last few years, Shiba Inu has grown with projects like Shibarium, Shiba Eternity, and Shiboshi Rush, showcasing its rapid evolution from a meme coin to a broader ecosystem.
‘Welcome to SHIB: The Metaverse’
Shiba Inu recently announced the launch of a virtual world called “SHIB: The Metaverse.” LUCIE (Shibarium’s marketing lead) described the project as “groundbreaking.” Powered by the layer-2 scaling solution, “SHIB: The Metaverse” represents a platform for “creativity, connection, and ownership.”
LUCIE further explained that the project allows users to own, trade, and develop virtual real estate recorded on the blockchain.
People are also enabled to create personalized avatars, build their own vision, and connect globally with other members of the SHIB community.
For their part, Seizan_Shib posted short video on X, showing what the project looks like. The X user said “SHIB: The Metaverse” is already live but warned that it is still in beta version. One individual who reacted was Shiba Inu’s lead developer – Shytoshi Kusama. They retweeted the post, simply saying, “Beautiful.”
Previous SHIB-Related Projects
In the past few years, Shiba Inu has significantly expanded beyond being just a meme coin. The self-proclaimed Dogecoin-killer has evolved into a broader ecosystem with several notable developments.
One evident example is its L2 blockchain solution – Shibarium. It officially saw the light of day last summer and is specifically designed to reduce transaction fees, improve speed, and enhance scalability. Earlier this week, Shibarium blasted through another majormilestone. As lachakari reported, the total transactions processed on the network exceeded 700 million.
