Tether, the issuer of the world's largest stablecoin USDT, has made a strategic investment in the crypto venture capital (VC) fund of Arcanum Capital, a Web3 asset manager. The size of the investment was not disclosed, but it marks Tether's first investment in a crypto VC fund. Arcanum Emerging Technologies Fund II, which Tether invested in, focuses on investing in tokenized decentralized Web3 projects. The fund has a total of $20 million in assets under management. Commenting on the development, Paolo Ardoino, CTO of Tether, said: "The geopolitical turmoil we are witnessing today unveils the fragility of the centralized financial infrastructure. This investment in a fund focused on censorship resistance and open communication is our contribution to fostering the development of blockchains." Tether's investment in Arcanum Capital's crypto VC fund is a sign of the growing institutional interest in the digital asset space. As more and more investors seek to gain exposure to the crypto market, VC funds that focus on investing in early-stage Web3 projects are likely to become increasingly attractive.
