Animoca Brands' co-founder Yat Siu fell victim to a hack, leading to the promotion of a fraudulent token on his X account. The fake token, named Animoca Brands (MOCA), was launched on Solana's memecoin platform Pump.fun. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT suggests Siu was targeted by a phishing email, part of a series of similar attacks that have amassed $500,000 in a month. The fake token briefly hit a peak value of $36,700 before crashing to around $6,200. The attack is linked to social engineering tactics, tricking victims into compromising their X account security.
