Mo Shaikh, the CEO and co-founder of Aptos Labs, announced on December 19, 2024, that he would step down from his position. Shaikh, who co-founded the company in 2021 alongside Avery Ching, expressed his confidence in the team and their ability to realize the company’s vision moving forward. He will continue to serve as a strategic adviser while embarking on a new professional venture.
Under Shaikh’s leadership, Aptos successfully launched its layer-1 blockchain mainnet in October 2022 and secured over $400 million in funding.
Avery Ching, formerly the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder, has taken over as CEO. The company’s strategic focus now includes expanding its ecosystem and advancing its technological capabilities. Ching highlighted the importance of regional growth in markets such as India, Vietnam, South Korea, Japan, and China. Aptos Labs is committed to delivering significant technical innovation by 2025, with plans for further ecosystem development.
