Sky (formerly known as MakerDAO) is accelerating its migration plans to the Sky network in 2023. Rune Christensen, the founder of Sky, highlighted that the migration is crucial to ensure the real-world utility of SKY under the new governance structure. The plan aims to have CoinGecko and major exchanges support only SKY, while the legacy Maker (MKR) token will remain as a "Legacy Wrapper" exchangeable for 24,000 SKY each. In addition to the migration, Sky also plans to release more subDAOs (STARs) in the coming year. These subDAOs will allow the community to participate in decision-making and governance. Furthermore, Sky will be shifting its tokenomics to deflationary, with plans to burn a portion of transaction fees. This move is expected to reduce the supply of SKY over time, potentially increasing its value. The migration to Sky and the implementation of these changes aim to enhance the utility, governance, and value of the SKY token.
