MicroStrategy, a major Bitcoin holder, has purchased an additional 15,350 BTC, spending around $1.5 billion in cash, the company announced on Monday. MicroStrategy acquired the new stash of BTC between Dec. 9 and 15. The latest purchase was made at an average price of roughly $100,386 per BTC using proceeds from the issuance and sale of shares under the convertible notes sales agreement.
The acquisition brings MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin holdings to 439,000 BTC ($45.6 billion), bought at an aggregate purchase price of $27.1 billion, or an average purchase price of approximately $61,725 per BTC. MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor highlighted the company’s Bitcoin performance, noting a 46.4% yield quarter-to-date and a 72.4% yield year-to-date.
